Chicago Ridge real estate comprises a mix of single family residences and condomiums. When I purchased a home 3 years ago I almost bought a Victorian home that used to be the Chicago Ridge Post Office (I was told they handled mail from the back porch). There are some older homes plus more modern split level and bungalow styles. The light blue Victorian home in my photo slideshow above next to the Indian is a Chicago Ridge home. There is no land left for new construction so there is very little new construction available, if any (depending on when you're looking).

Chicago Ridge Illinois
Chicago Ridge is a small village that comprises 2.2 square miles. The estimated 2004 population is 13,728 residents. It is bordered mainly by Oak Lawn and Worth.
Chicago Ridge Transporation
The Chicago Ridge Metra train station offers easy access to downtown Chicago's Loop which is about 20 miles away. The Pace bus also stops at Birmingham and Ridgeland Avenue. Chicago Ridge residents have close access to I-294.
Chicago Ridge Mall
That was the name that Westfield Mall used to go by. The original Chicago Ridge Illinois Mall changed its name a few years back and continues to add new stores to the mall that has helped put Chicago Ridge on the map.
Westfield Mall currently houses Sears, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Kohls and Carson's as their largest anchor stores. There are many other clothing stores, restaurants and a movie theater in the mall.
Just across the street is Chicago Ridge Commons, another strip mall offering more stores and restaurants, including Home Depot, Office Depot and XSport Fitness Center.

Chicago Ridge Entertainment
As has been mentioned, Chicago Ridge has a range of dining from fast food to Country Buffet to an assortment of regular restaurants including Bennigan's and Chili's on the Westfield Mall premises.
Besides movie theaters and dining for year 'round entertainment, Chicago Ridge sponsors a very famous annual outdoor festival called Ridgefest. Every year Ridgefest brings top performers and is one of the most popular festivals in the area. This year's Ridgefest was held July 20-23, 2006.
