I had the opportunity of working with a transferee from another state recently. Her office was moving to Chicago but she wanted to live in the suburbs. After a lengthy Internet search and study, she chose a few southwest suburbs to complete her search.
I took her to several different towns and she decided that Oak Lawn was the place she liked the best. Of course, being a long-time Oak Lawn resident myself, I can understand why Oak Lawn would be a great choice for a transferee working downtown.
Our showings started at the new condos within walking distance to the train station but she decided she wanted a single family residence. So we nixed the condo idea. Of course, the condo units were new and beautiful, but she had a child and decided he’d be running down the halls and bothering residents.
The great thing about our area is that we have a selection of nice homes that aren’t located too far from the train station and not that far of a trip downtown. She even thought it was close enough to drive if necessary.
I don’t get too many transferees looking in our area but it’s nice when I can proudly show our village off. Buyers are starting to look again, even with the cold weather and snow. I’ve been very busy. So if you’re thinking of moving to the Oak Lawn area be sure to check out the Oak Lawn MLS. You’ll find every single active listing in Oak Lawn and the surrounding areas, including all of Chicago and other counties.
