Have you ever been to the online news portal called Topix? Please check it out, as I have become the Editor for the Oak Lawn IL page. I am the only Editor so far and the page was previously “fed” by a “robo-editor” that automatically picked news articles with the words Oak Lawn in them.
I noticed that many of the news items were simply people that ended up at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn after some kind of injury. Many of the articles weren’t really Oak Lawn related news items.
So I’ve been trying to get real Oak Lawn news and I’ve been seeing more activity in the forums on the more local articles. That tells me that the page does have readership.
Please go to Topix.com and get the Oak Lawn page. Join in by commenting on the news items and forum posts. Although my main office is in Orland Park, I live and work in Oak Lawn so I thought it was fitting to become an Editor for the area. It would be nice to make it a real community news page.
